DIY Butter Stick

.
A few weeks ago I saw a tutorial on making your own butter stick and thought how GENIUS it was!  Sorry, I can't find it again!  I thought I had it on my "to do" but it isn't there.  But, basically the whole tutorial was on taking an old deodorant container apart and cleaning it well enough that you don't end up eating deodorant.  UGH!!! NOT!!!  First, who can wait that long.  Second, UGH!!

BUT, just think of the uses!  Butter a pan, rolls, corn on the cob, toast.... etc....

This is my version of it... (Everybody I know is getting one of these babies!)

So, I went in search of blanks and found some!

The fill/refill instructions are on the label so if you give it to someone they can "load" it themselves!

My tutorial:
  1. Melt about 3/4 stick of butter in microwave....
  2. pour into tube ....
  3. refrigerate!
  4. DONE!

The label is made from a modified graphic from "The Graphics Fairy".  I am also linking there today.

OH!  One more thing... I found this on Pinterest and it so says it all! I laugh every time I read it.

  1. Oh! How much would actual shipping be?

(I love butter. It loves me, on my hips is where it wants to be... *sigh*)

That aside, if this allows me to put on just a thin smearing of butter on my pancake, and not a thick, golden, greasy, delicious glob, I have a lot of uses for it. And yes, I could understand why you wouldn't want your butter to taste of Swagger...

  2. Hi All...
Shipping will be the absolute LEAST I can get it for (I HATE HIGH SHIPPING COSTS!). I just can't even guess yet. Once I get more of a feel for how many people want and where they are located I'll go the the PO and check (my "check engine" light is on so I can't go anywhere until I get that checked out...(she said with a groan)

  3. At first I thought this was a little on the ridiculous side...but I gotta say I'm rather intrigued! This would be super handy for my kids who want to butter their own toast, but can't handle a knife properly yet. And, the Paula Deen pic is possibly the funniest thing I've seen today. True too. 4. I know Jen, I seriously giggle every time I look at the Paula picture. I have given the tube to several of my friends and they all have been excited about it for the corn on the cob... Think about it... you can keep butter on a cob!

Now, having actually used it for a couple of days now, I like leaving it out MUCH better than refrigerating... I buttered some crackers today with the soft butter and I think that works best....and it still moves up and down even soft... I am LOVING IT!

  5. Oh! Oh! I got mine!!! Thank you SO MUCH! It's wonderful and I have the butter melting in the as I write this. It's going to be so good on corn. And I have some real English crumpets in the freezer, might get those out and toast them and butter them up for proper English tea. Thank you, thank you. You're wonderful and the butter stick is wonderful. On, and that font looked wonderful on the envelope. :))

  7. I got mine too Nancy! Thank you so much. I will try this idea tomorrow on my day off. I agree, the monogram on the front of the envelope was beautifully done. I have actually cut it out to save it in my smoosh book.

  11. Talking of vanishing mail, let me know if my package made it back to you, Nancy, please. I'm still new to US mail, and everything but Netflix seems to take forever.
